THE STORY OF FRECKLE + HOUND

Freckle and Hound was created from a time of great personal challenge (with a happy ending, I promise!).

At 27 years of age, I was diagnosed with an early stage melanoma on my wrist. After my 'Oh shit' moment, I quickly felt the weight of unfinished business in the face of my own mortality. This small ‘freckle’ cast a rather harsh light over the life I was living and forced me to reconsider how I was contributing to the world and what really mattered to me – my legacy. 

It completely changed my perspective and after all was said and done, I sat with my beloved four-legged beast (Charlie Winston) and pondered what to do with myself. I looked at that Freckle (which was now a gross scar) I looked at that Hound and... I never looked back.

It began from purely artistic origins while I used drawing and painting to heal and express my emotions. But as I grew and discovered new elements of myself and interests, so too did the business: evolving into a place for my original and ultimate creative gift of writing.

As a self-identified HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), introvert and writer, I have found ways to combine my love of transformation, embracing change, living authentically, and stepping into personal power with creativity and healing. Which is basically a whole bunch of fancy words that mean I love to learn, grow and share the crazy shit I discover with others.

So here you are. You’ve arrived. And I’m so glad you did – but also a little scared because I'm an introvert... and... it's the internet.
